How Strong is Your Social Net?
A number of Philadelphia arts groups, convened by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, participated in the baseline data collection phase of our national survey, How Strong is Your Social Net?
A comparison of the participating groups’ data against more than 1,400 national responses we’ve received to date revealed that the 98 participating Philadelphia arts organizations are ahead of the curve nationally, echoing some of the interesting results we observed in St. Louis. (more…)

Read MoreTrudel | MacPherson has begun a national rollout tour, presenting initial results of our How Strong is Your Social Net? survey and leading workshops with groups of arts organizations that took the survey as members of regional collaboratives.
The first presentation took place in St. Louis in late May under the auspices of the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission (RAC), the largest arts funder in the region. A number of RAC grantees were among the first to take the survey during our baseline capture period in which select arts groups — grantees of local conveners or members of service organizations — were invited to take the survey prior to its full national launch, when the survey was opened to all arts organizations. Read MoreMore than 7/8 of respondents to date (87.6%) say that audiences have been responding to their digital and social media outreach. Less than 10% (8.3%) reported that their audiences haven’t been responding.

Read MoreArts organizations using digital and social media to boost ticket sales or to sell tickets directly via online channels are seeing significant results. A combined 77.5% of respondents report online efforts and activities are yielding some degree of success with ticket sales.
- 42.7% report “some results”
- 23.7% report “good results”
- 6.7% report “major results”
- 4.4% say that digital and social media have become “mission critical” where ticket sales are concerned.
Only 7.6% of respondents to date report no results.
