10. How well are digital and social media integrated into arts organizations’ overall communications efforts and policies?
We see a strong trend in the integration of digital and social tools into larger, holistic thinking about communications policy. The organizations that report getting the best results and express the most confidence in their activities are also those who look at digital communications as communications channels, are putting social media policies in place, and are carefully measuring their results.
In terms of human resources, which we specified in our survey question as staff willingness or ability to manage digital and social media, 43.8% of organizations said that they are having difficulty managing to keep up with or adopt digital and social media.
Some organizations (23.8%) felt that the statement “We see potential in digital and social media, but aren’t yet using it” applied to their organizations.
